All may not be well after all between Paul Pogba and Manchester United.

The French midfielder inspired the Red Devils to a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday in the opening match of the 2018-19 Premier League season, converting a penalty to give his side an early lead.

But despite the World Cup winner being named captain for the contest by United boss Jose Mourinho, Pogba hinted the once-frayed relationship between him and his manager may still not be entirely repaired.

"There are things, and there are things that I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined," Pogba said after the win when asked if he was "happy and comfortable" at United, courtesy of ESPN FC's Rob Dawson.

Pogba and Mourinho had an infamously tense relationship last season that culminated with the midfielder being dropped from the starting lineup for both legs against Sevilla in their Champions League round of 16 encounter. Though Mourinho shut down reports of a rift with his star player, Pogba revealed this summer that he did have "small issues" with the Portuguese boss.

Following Friday's victory, Pogba took to his Instagram to cryptically state he would always "give my best to the fans and my teammates no matter what's going on."

While he didn't clear up the meaning behind the caption, Pogba hinted at being trusted as a key factor in his prosperous showings with France at the World Cup.

"I still enjoying playing football, I still love football and I still give my best with the team, for the team. Like I said, when you are comfortable, when people trust with everyone or confident, are good in the head, it's going to be easier."
