NIU has suspended redshirt senior Rasheen Lemon after he was arrested and charged with domestic battery and unlawful restraint, according to HuskieWire's Jesse Severson.
The incident occurred on April 12, and Lemon was suspended immediately after the team found out. He is also facing two charges of misdemeanor domestic battery.
Court documents indicate Lemon and his girlfriend were arguing around 2 a.m. on April 12, when he pushed her to the ground and held her down. He also stepped on her chest and caused a cut to her bottom lip.
The team has given no hint as to when or if Lemon will return. The linebacker finished second on the team with 90 tackles and six quarterback hurries.
