Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan redeemed himself after throwing an ill-advised pass that was intercepted by Notre Dame's Cole Luke in the first quarter Saturday.
After the No. 14 Cardinal's defense forced an Everett Golson fumble on the very next play, Hogan completed a short pass to Ty Montgomery before running up the gut for a 10-yard score, giving the visitors an early 7-0 lead over the No. 9 Fighting Irish.
