Booker: Alabama held players-only meeting to emphasize togetherness

Things in Tuscaloosa haven't gone as expected this season, but Alabama has made efforts to right the ship.

"We had a players-only meeting yesterday," Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker said on "The Next Round" Monday. "Everybody got a lot of stuff off their chest, and I feel like we're all on the same page now."

After beginning the campaign with a 56-7 win over Middle Tennessee, Alabama has endured back-to-back tough weeks. The Crimson Tide lost at home against Texas two weeks ago and posted an underwhelming 17-3 victory over USF in their last outing.

"It's unfortunate that it took a loss at Bryant Denny and a subpar game in Tampa for that to happen, but I feel like we're all on the same page now," Booker said. "It makes me excited to see how the rest of the season goes since we're all on the same page."

Alabam dropped to No. 13 in the updated AP Poll - the team's lowest ranking since 2015.

Booker denied that the Crimson Tide had any fractures inside their locker room but added they needed to unite before starting their SEC schedule.

"I just feel like we just need to put an emphasis on togetherness. I'm not saying that we weren't together, but we're just emphasizing it now," Booker said.

Booker added he believes the meeting and talent on Alabama's roster will prevail as the season progresses.

"Really, there's nobody that can stop us," he said. "We just all have to execute at the same time when we're supposed to."

The Crimson Tide host No. 15 Ole Miss next Saturday.
