Former West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels is transferring to Rice, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Rice will mark the fourth stop in Daniels' collegiate career after stints at West Virginia, Georgia, and USC. Daniels entered the transfer portal earlier in December after one season with the Mountaineers.

The Owls' pro-style offense under head coach Mike Bloomgren and offensive coordinator Marques Tuiasosopo interested Daniels, Thamel adds.

Daniels threw for 2,107 yards with 13 touchdowns to nine interceptions over 10 games during his lone season at West Virginia.

The signal-caller spent two seasons each at Georgia and USC prior to his 2022 campaign at West Virginia. His most productive campaign came as a freshman for the Trojans as he threw for 14 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.
