4-star CB Ga'Quincy McKinstry commits to Alabama
Alabama landed a significant verbal commitment Sunday when Pinson Valley High School athlete Ga'Quinstry McKinstry picked the Crimson Tide over Auburn and LSU.
McKinstry is the second-ranked prospect from the state of Alabama on the ESPN 300 and the No. 38 recruit overall. He is ranked by 247Sports as the top prospect from Alabama and the No. 1 cornerback in his class.
He plays as both a wide receiver and cornerback for Pinson Valley and is a two-sport athlete, helping the school to two state championships in football (2017, 2018) and basketball (2018, 2019).
McKinstry is the 12th player in the top 150 of the ESPN 300 to verbally commit to Nick Saban's squad. He joins five other top-50 Alabama commits: offensive tackles Tommy Brockermeyer and J.C. Latham, defensive tackle Damon Payne, linebacker Dallas Turner, and wide receiver Jacorey Brooks.
