Tua Tagovailoa has been announced as Alabama's starting quarterback for Saturday's key SEC matchup against LSU, according to AL.com's Matt Zenitz.
Tagovailoa has been recovering from ankle surgery and missed his school's last game, a 48-7 win over Arkansas, due to the injury.
In his absence, sophomore Mac Jones started one game, going 18-of-22 passing for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
Tagovailoa underwent the tightrope procedure to repair a high ankle sprain suffered against Tennessee on Oct. 19. He rehabbed from the same surgery in 27 days last year.
The pivot has put up 2,166 yards, 27 touchdowns, and two interceptions this season for the No. 3 Crimson Tide. He's widely expected to be a top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
