Adidas and Twitter are joining forces to live stream high school football games this fall.
The companies announced Tuesday the creation of "Friday Night Stripes," Twitter's first-ever live streaming series for high school football games. The eight-game series, produced by Intersport, will include nationally ranked teams from California, Nevada, Indiana, Georgia, and Florida.
"High school football fans view Twitter as an indispensable tool to follow what's happening - whether it's the national recruiting stage or their local communities, every Friday night we see players, teams, coaches, alumni, and fans embrace this passionate culture," Andrew Barge, head of sports broadcast partnerships at Twitter, said in a press release. "We're thrilled to partner with adidas and Intersport to help fulfill this massive and untapped opportunity."
ESPN and SEC Network play-by-play announcer Courtney Lyle will call the action with former Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk, while YouTube personality Cameron "Scooter" Magruder will provide sideline reporting.
"Friday Night Stripes" premieres Sept. 7 and will continue throughout the regular high school football season, with the final game on Nov. 9.
