Washington was doing so well against Alabama in the Peach Bowl, until Ryan Anderson picked off Jake Browning's pass for a touchdown late in the first half to give the Crimson Tide a 17-7.
Browning was under pressure deep in his own end and tried to force a pass outside to Lavon Coleman, but Anderson intercepted the weak throw and returned it for a 26-yard score.
It was Alabama's 15th non-offensive touchdown this season.
