Michigan State point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. is withdrawing his name from the NBA draft to return to the Spartans for the 2026-27 campaign, his agent, Mike Miller, told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
Fears initially declared for the draft while maintaining his college eligibility. He was projected to go in the second round but decided to return to East Lansing, Rothstein notes.

The 21-year-old just capped off a standout redshirt sophomore season and is considered one of the best guards in the country. He suited up in 35 games last year, averaging 15.2 points and a nation-leading 9.4 assists per contest.
Fears' 328 assists during the 2025-26 campaign set a Michigan State single-season record. The Spartans reached the Sweet 16 before losing to UConn 67-63.
The former four-star recruit played in just 12 games as a freshman and ultimately redshirted after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. He bounced back in 2024-25 and has started 71 games for Michigan State over the last two seasons.
