Gonzaga has received a major boost ahead of the upcoming collegiate campaign.

The NCAA has given Florida transfer Andrew Nembhard a waiver, and he'll be eligible to play immediately, the school announced.

The Canadian was one of the top available transfers this offseason.

Nembhard spent the previous two collegiate campaigns as the starting point guard for the Gators, averaging 11.2 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.1 steals over 31 appearances in 2019-20.

The 20-year-old is expected to form a potent backcourt tandem with incoming five-star recruit Jalen Suggs.

For the first time in school history, Gonzaga enters the season sitting atop the preseason AP Poll.
