J.T. Thor, a four-star forward out of Georgia, is committing to Auburn, he told Evan Daniels of 247Sports.
The 6-foot-8 recruit credited Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl as a key factor in his decision.
"He's a players' coach, first of all, and he's a winner. And he had players before me that play like me, so I feel I could rotate into his system and we can make it work," Thor said.
Thor is rated as the eighth-best power forward on ESPN's list of top 100 recruits for the class of 2020, and the 45th-best overall player.
He joins a solid Auburn recruiting class, headlined by five-star guard Sharife Cooper. Justin Powell, a four-star ball-handler, and Chris Moore, a three-star wing, have also committed to Auburn's 2020 class.
The school is also believed to be a finalist for shooting guard Jalen Green, the No. 1 recruit in the nation. Green plans to announce his commitment Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
While putting on his Auburn cap, Thor said, "Go Eagles." Auburn's athletic teams are known as the Tigers. He was likely trying to reference the school's fight song, "War Eagle."
