Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and Gonzaga head coach Mark Few are expected to be named the assistant coaches of the United States men's national basketball team, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra was hired last October as Team USA's bench boss for the 2027 FIBA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Few was an assistant when Team USA won gold at the Paris Games in 2024. Daigneault and Bickerstaff will be making their debuts behind the bench for the national team.
Daigneault has been the Thunder head coach since 2020, guiding the team to a 275-207 record. Oklahoma City won the NBA championship under his guidance in 2025 and made it to the Western Conference finals this past season.
Bickerstaff was named the Pistons' head coach in July 2024. He led Detroit to an impressive 60-22 record this past season, with the team earning the No. 1 seed in the East.
Few has been the head coach at Gonzaga since 1999. The Bulldogs have never won the NCAA national championship under his leadership, though they boast a 773-156 record in that time.
