Four-star recruit Darius Maddox verbally committed to Virginia Tech, he told 247Sports' Evan Daniels.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard is ranked 99th on the ESPN 100 for 2020 and is the second player from that list to choose the Hokies.
"When I went on campus it was just a lot of love and I just felt comfortable there," Maddox told Daniels. "The coaches told me the role that they would have (for) me and I was comfortable with that. Just go in and make shots and push the ball ahead on rebounds."
Seton Hall and Kansas State were also in the running for Maddox, who averaged 16.2 points, 3.1 boards, and two assists per contest on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Maddox will play his senior year of high school at the famed Oak Hill Academy.
