The Philadelphia 76ers are sending forward Johni Broome and a second-round pick to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for cash, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
By dumping Broome's salary, Philadelphia will stay under the first salary apron after signing both LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Broome, the SEC Player of the Year in 2025 with Auburn, was drafted 35th overall by the 76ers before signing a four-year deal through a second-round exception. He played sparingly as a rookie, averaging five minutes over 11 regular-season games.
After officially adding James on Monday, Philadelphia is expected to complete the signing of Caldwell-Pope once he clears waivers Tuesday. The Memphis Grizzlies waived the veteran guard and two-time NBA champion after the sides reached an agreement on a contract buyout.
