Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for up to two months, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Edwards appeared on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors due to right knee injury management. He received the same designation for Monday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, though he ultimately played and scored 47 points on over 50% shooting.

The star guard is averaging 33.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game through four contests this season. His 133 total points and 50 made field goals both lead the NBA.

LaMelo Ball, whom the Timberwolves acquired in a blockbuster trade this offseason, is now projected to take on a larger scoring role. He's averaged 14.8 points and 6.3 assists over the first four games.

Minnesota is off to a 3-1 start this season, with wins over the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Toronto Raptors.
