Ja Morant will see out the rest of the season with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Though Morant received some consideration ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline, no team was willing to put forth a serious offer for the two-time All-Star, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings were among the teams that reportedly showed interest in Morant in January. Memphis was said to be seeking a combination of young players and draft picks in return. However, the Heat ultimately chose not to pursue Morant for several reasons, a source told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, and the Kings' only trade was a three-team deal last week that brought De'Andre Hunter to Sacramento.

The Grizzlies suspended Morant one game in November for what they deemed conduct detrimental to the team. The point guard reportedly clashed with head coach Tuomas Iisalo following a 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 31 after Iisalo challenged Morant's leadership and effort. In postgame comments to reporters, Morant, who scored eight points on 3-of-14 shooting against the Lakers, told media to "ask the coaching staff" when asked about his performance.

The former second overall pick is averaging 19.5 points in 20 starts - his lowest average since his second NBA season in 2020-21 - and is shooting career worsts from the field (41%) and 3-point range (23.5%).
