Report: Warriors include Draymond in trade offers for Giannis
The Golden State Warriors have included Draymond Green in trade offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, sources told ESPN's Anthony Slater.
Green is averaging 8.4 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in Year 14 of his career, all of which he's spent with Golden State. However, the front office's reported willingness to part with the four-time NBA champion speaks to the race brewing for Antetokounmpo ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.
"I don't know that it ends at 13-and-a-half years, but if it does, what a f-----g run it's been," Green told reporters after Tuesday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the Mercury News' Joseph Dycus.
Along with the Warriors, the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Miami Heat are all apparently hoping to strike a deal to acquire the Greek star. One offer by Golden State to Milwaukee reportedly centered around future draft compensation.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday that he had already spoken with Green about the vet's name emerging in trade talks.
"If I need to just step in and say something or talk to a guy, I'll do that," Kerr said, according to Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle. "This is probably the first time ... since I've been here that his name has ever been really mentioned in trade talks."
