Kevin Durant had high praise for former Brooklyn Nets teammate Kyrie Irving ahead of Friday's matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks.
"I always thought Kyrie was a master-level player," the Suns star told reporters. "It's been like that for me, the last 10 years.
"I feel like - he probably won't ever say this, he's such a humble player, humble person - I just think he's a complete player. I feel like there's no weaknesses or no holes in his game, physically or mentally. And I feel like his approach to the game is perfect for what you need as a team.
"I just think he just keeps showing up every day, keep adding to his greatness, his legacy, and he's gonna help out the Mavs as much as he can."
Irving is in his third season with the Mavs after arriving via trade from the Nets in February 2023. He's averaging 23 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds through eight games while shooting 49.6% from the field and 54.5% from three.
The Suns and Mavs squared off for the first time this season Oct. 26, with Phoenix winning 114-102.
