The Golden State Warriors are trading James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons as part of a four-team deal involving the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Hawks are receiving forward Saddiq Bey from the Pistons, reported Wojnarowski, while five second-round picks are heading to the Blazers, Wojnarowski added.
Former lottery pick Kevin Knox is also being shipped to Portland, while the Blazers are sending guard Gary Payton to the Warriors, sources told Wojnarowski.
Golden State selected Wiseman second overall in 2020. The 7-foot center has made only 60 appearances over his first three seasons, missing all of 2021-22 due to a knee injury.
Wiseman showed some promise during his rookie year, averaging 11.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 2020-21. However, he has failed to crack Golden State's rotation this season.
Bey made an instant impact in his debut campaign, earning NBA All-Rookie first-team honors. He's been a reliable secondary scorer during his time in Detroit, averaging 14.5 points and making 35.7% of his attempts from downtown across three seasons.
Knox averaged 12.8 points during his first NBA campaign with the New York Knicks but has since struggled to carve out a consistent role. He's averaging 5.6 points and shooting 37.1% from deep this season as a reserve.
Payton left the Bay Area for the Rose City in the offseason on a three-year, $26.1-million contract. However, he's been limited to just 15 appearances this campaign due to injury.
The 30-year-old bounced around the league before finding a home with the Warriors in 2020-21 as a defensive stopper.
