Zion ruled out through All-Star Game with hamstring injury
Williamson's injury is expected to be re-evaluated following the All-Star break, Green said.
The 22-year-old has already missed 19 straight games for New Orleans dating back to Jan. 4. Despite the ailment, Williamson was voted in as a starter from the Western Conference, landing him the second All-Star selection of his young career.
The NBA has yet to announce an injury replacement for Williamson, though potential names include Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis, Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox, and Minnesota Timberwolves wing Anthony Edwards. It's also unclear if a tabbed reserve from the West, such as frontcourt options Domantas Sabonis or Lauri Markkanen, could be promoted to the starters pool, with Williamson's injury replacement, in turn, taking a spot on the bench.
Williamson is the second player from the conference's starters likely to miss out on the midseason festivities. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is reportedly set to miss several weeks after the Warriors announced Sunday that he sustained torn ligaments in his left leg.
