Pelicans' Ingram returns in loss to T-Wolves after 2-month absence

New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram made his return to the lineup Wednesday night in a 111-102 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ingram scored 13 points on 4-for-18 shooting from the field, while chipping in five rebounds, five assists, and a steal in 26 minutes.

The former No. 2 overall pick has been sidelined for the past two months due to a toe injury. He was averaging 20.8 points, 5.1 boards, and 4.7 assists before his extended absence.

New Orleans acquired Ingram from the Los Angeles Lakers in July 2019 as part of the Anthony Davis blockbuster deal. The 25-year-old quickly established himself as one of the Pelicans' foundational pieces, earning his maiden All-Star selection and the league's Most Improved Player award during his first campaign in the Big Easy.

The Pelicans rewarded Ingram with a five-year, $158-million contract that summer.

New Orleans is currently on a five-game losing streak and has been without Zion Williamson for the past three weeks.
