Report: Lakers weighing multiple trade scenarios after Dec. 15
The Los Angeles Lakers have won six of their past eight games and appear ready to make some moves to help their playoff push.
Los Angeles is leaning toward trading a combination of Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn, and picks with a potential separate deal involving Russell Westbrook and one first-round draft selection also being considered after Dec. 15, sources told The Athletic's Jovan Buha.
More trade scenarios will open up on that date as players who signed new contracts in the offseason can now be included in deals.
It's unclear who the Lakers are targeting or if they've engaged in meaningful trade conversations. However, one of the club's biggest needs is outside shooting. Los Angeles ranks 28th in 3-point percentage (32.4%) and 29th in triples per game (9.9).
Beverley is having a disappointing start to his Lakers tenure, averaging career lows in both points (4.2 per game) and field-goal percentage (26.8%).
Nunn signed a two-year, $10-million contract in August 2021, but injuries have limited him to only 18 appearances with the purple and gold.
Meanwhile, Westbrook is coming off the bench for the first time in his 14-year career. The former MVP has posted 15 points, 7.2 assists, 5.2 boards, and 1.1 steals per contest across 19 appearances this season.
