3-time Sixth Man winner Jamal Crawford retires

Veteran guard Jamal Crawford officially announced his retirement on his 42nd birthday on Monday.

Crawford last played in the NBA two years ago for the Brooklyn Nets.

Crawford and Lou Williams are the only three-time winners of the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award. The Seattle native sits second all time in points off the bench and is one of eight players to have played 20 seasons in the Association.

The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Crawford eighth overall in 2000 and subsequently dealt him to the Chicago Bulls. He spent four seasons in the Windy City before joining the New York Knicks for another four campaigns.

Crawford played for seven more teams over the remainder of his career, most notably the Los Angeles Clippers, where he was named Sixth Man twice and played a vital role on multiple playoff teams.

In 2018, Crawford was voted the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year by his peers. A year later, he became the oldest player to score 50-plus points in one game and the only player in league history to accomplish the feat with four different teams.

Crawford's 2221 triples are eighth-most on the Association's all-time leaderboard.
