Lakers' Horton-Tucker out vs. Mavs due to health and safety protocols
Los Angeles Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker entered the NBA's health and safety protocols and will miss Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers announced Tuesday, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
Horton-Tucker could miss multiple games, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania. Players who test positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic can return in 10 days or after receiving two negative test results 24 hours apart.
The Lakers canceled practice earlier Tuesday ahead of their flight to Dallas. Members of the club were told to take a rapid test and a PCR test, and they must receive negative results from both in order to board the team plane, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports.
Horton-Tucker missed the first month of the 2021-22 season due to a thumb injury. He's averaging 11.3 points, 4.5 boards, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals over 15 appearances.
Los Angeles is already without Trevor Ariza and Kendrick Nunn due to injury. Anthony Davis missed the last two contests and is listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup due to left knee soreness.
