NBA players who don't follow local vaccination mandates won't be paid for missed games this season, league spokesman Mike Bass said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
New York and San Francisco currently have a vaccine requirement for players on the Nets, Knicks, and Warriors. The mandate will only affect home teams and not unvaccinated players on opposing squads.
Notably, Golden State's Andrew Wiggins said he has yet to be inoculated, while Brooklyn's Kyrie Irving is reportedly in the same boat.
Should both players miss all 41 home games, Wiggins would forfeit $15.8 million, while Irving would lose out on $17.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Knicks recently announced the roster is 100% vaccinated.
