The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed Leandro Bolmaro, the team announced Saturday, opening the door for the talented Argentine to make his NBA debut.

The 21-year-old was selected 23rd overall by the New York Knicks in 2020 before being acquired by Minnesota in November. Bolmaro is the lone first-round pick from the 2020 draft class who has yet to make his stateside debut.

A 6-foot-6 guard, Bolmaro has played for Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona for the past two campaigns. Between EuroLeague and Liga ACB play, he averaged 4.7 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in just under 13 minutes per game last season.
