Report: Kemba signing 2-year deal with Knicks after agreeing to buyout with Thunder

Four-time All-Star guard Kemba Walker has agreed to a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Walker will sign with the New York Knicks after clearing waivers, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The 2019 All-NBA selection is receiving a two-year deal worth $8 million-$9 million annually, NBA TV's Ryan McDonough reports.

Oklahoma City acquired Walker from the Boston Celtics in June. He didn't suit up for the Thunder, but the blockbuster deal netted the club the 16th overall pick in this year's draft.

Walker averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 assists, and four boards over 43 appearances this past season. However, injuries plagued him throughout his two-year tenure with the Celtics.

The reported acquisition of Walker fills the Knicks' long-term need for a point guard. It's also a homecoming for the Bronx, New York native.

Walker is no stranger to the bright lights of Madison Square Garden. The 31-year-old hit an iconic game-winning shot at the buzzer during the Big East quarterfinals, leading UConn to the 2011 tournament title while capturing MVP honors.

New York has been one of the busier teams during the early stages of free agency.

The Knicks reportedly re-signed sharpshooter Alec Burks and inked free-agent guard Evan Fournier to a reported four-year deal worth up to $78 million. Center Nerlens Noel is also staying with the club after signing a three-year, $32-million deal.
