Evan Fournier and the New York Knicks reached an agreement on a contract, his agent confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fournier's deal is for four years and is worth up to $78 million, a source told Wojnarowski.

The contract reportedly contains a team option for the fourth year.

Fournier was seeking a four-year, $80-million contract in free agency, which proved to be too big of an obstacle in negotiations with the Boston Celtics, a source told the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy on Saturday.

The Celtics acquired Fournier in a midseason trade from the Orlando Magic. He averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 assists, three rebounds, and 1.1 steals and shot 41.3% from three in 42 games between the two clubs.
