Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green says he foresees himself playing a large role in the team's offseason planning after Friday's play-in loss to the Memphis Grizzlies ended its 2020-21 campaign.

"I expect to be extremely involved. It's just the way it's gotta be. I definitely expect to be extremely involved," Green said, courtesy of NBC Sports. "You have to dive in. Like I said, looking back on this year, I think there were a lot of successes that came out of this year, but we did not win a championship, so you have to go back to the drawing board and try to figure it out. And that's what we're going to do. I'm looking forward to it."

The Warriors' immediate attention will now likely turn to the draft on July 29, where the team could potentially own two first-round picks, including one as high as fourth overall. That will depend on the results of the draft lottery on June 22; the Minnesota Timberwolves will forfeit their pick to the Warriors if it falls outside the top three.

Golden State will then see Kelly Oubre Jr., Kent Bazemore, and potentially Kevon Looney become unrestricted free agents, while star guard Stephen Curry has one year left on his contract. Curry, 33, will be eligible to sign a maximum four-year extension worth over $200 million this summer, which would all but guarantee he finishes his career in the Bay Area.

Center James Wiseman's role with the franchise will also likely be weighed. Last year's No. 2 pick showed flashes as a rookie but only played in 39 of 72 regular-season games due to injury. Trading the 20-year-old could allow Golden State to add veteran pieces to a championship-ready core next season.

"There are some things that need to be discussed between myself, Steph, Klay (Thompson), coaching staff, front office - this has always been a group thing," Green said.

"We've always done it all together, and this summer is extremely important that we do sit down and go back to the drawing board as one if we're going to get back to where it is that we want to go. Those conversations have to be had, and I'm looking forward to having them."
