Houston Rockets guard John Wall had a chip on his shoulder entering his first meeting against the Washington Wizards.

The five-time All-Star torched his former club for 24 points and five assists in Houston's 107-88 win on Tuesday.

Afterward, Wall expressed love for the city he spent the first nine years of his NBA career with, but also wasn't shy about his feelings toward his former team's front office.

"I just feel like the organization thought I was done," Wall said postgame. "No matter how much hard work I put in over the summer. They came in and watched me and they thought I was done. That's why I came out here and did what I did."

Houston acquired Wall and a future draft pick from Washington in exchange for Russell Westbrook in December. The former No. 1 overall pick has looked rejuvenated early on, averaging 17.1 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.1 steals heading into Tuesday's matchup.

"I never wanna be nowhere I'm not wanted, and I feel like this organization wanted me here," Wall told reporters, according to The Athletic's Fred Katz.

Wall's accolades during his time in the nation's capital include an All-NBA selection and an NBA All-Defensive second team nod. He remains the Wizards' all-time leader in assists and steals despite missing a majority of the past two seasons due to injury.
