Harden blockbuster deal becomes official
James Harden is officially a member of the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets formally announced the acquisition of the ex-Houston Rockets star on Thursday in a three-team deal, which also included the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"Adding an All-NBA player such as James to our roster better positions our team to compete against the league's best," said Nets general manager Sean Marks in a statement. "James is one of the most prolific scorers and playmakers in our game, and we are thrilled to bring his special talents to Brooklyn."

Houston will receive Brooklyn's first-round draft pick in 2022, 2024, and 2026 as well as the right to swap first-round picks in 2021, 2023, 2025, and 2027. The Rockets also acquired a 2022 first-round pick from the Cavs, via the Milwaukee Bucks.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn acquires a second-round pick in 2024 from Cleveland.
The Cavs also waived center Thon Maker and released guard Yogi Ferrell in corresponding moves.
Houston is reportedly trading Caris LeVert and a 2023 second-round pick to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for All-Star guard Victor Oladipo.
