The Philadelphia 76ers have been fined $25,000 for violating the NBA's injury reporting rules, the league announced Monday.
Philadelphia failed to list All-Star guard Ben Simmons on its initial injury report for Saturday's matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The club ruled the former No. 1 overall pick out just hours before tipoff due to a knee injury.
The NBA requires teams to disclose any injuries and the corresponding player's status by 5 p.m. local time on the day before a game if the contest isn't part of a back-to-back set.
Simmons, who's said to be day-to-day, will reportedly miss Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks.
