Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry agreed to a two-year, $116-million contract extension with a player option in 2028-29, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
The deal keeps Curry from entering the upcoming season as a pending free agent and ends speculation that the Warriors might entertain trade offers for him.
Curry took $20 million less than the maximum on his extension to give the Warriors more cap space next summer, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
His new contract makes him the first player to earn $600 million over the course of their career, adds Marks.
"We couldn't be more excited about reaching an agreement with Stephen and extending his historic career with the Warriors," general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said in a statement. "There has never been a better face to a franchise in professional sports history, both on and off the court, than Stephen Curry with the Warriors.
"He embodies everything this organization strives to represent through his legendary play on the court, his unique leadership and sacrifice, and his unmatched impact in the community. We've been incredibly blessed to experience 17 years of Stephen's artistry and are thrilled that our fans will continue to have the opportunity to watch him perform and write additional chapters to his illustrious story."
Curry has spent his entire career in Golden State, winning four championships and two NBA MVP awards while becoming the league's all-time leading 3-point scorer.
The 12-time All-Star is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points, threes, assists, steals, and free-throw percentage.
Curry, 38, recently said he hoped to be a "lifer" with the Warriors. He averaged 26.6 points across 43 games in an injury-shortened 2025-26 campaign.
Golden State went 37-45 last season and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years.
