In the event Zach LaVine becomes available on the trade market, the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets are already beginning to show interest in the 25-year-old.

Both teams have done background research on the high-scoring Chicago Bulls guard to help prepare themselves to potentially acquire him, SNY's Ian Begley reports. However, at this time, the Bulls haven't placed LaVine on the trade block.

In 60 games this season, LaVine averaged a team-high 25.5 points on 38% 3-point shooting with 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2021-22 campaign.

The Knicks and Nets both have appealing assets that could entice recently appointed Bulls president of basketball operations Arturas Karsinovas. New York has seven first-round picks at its disposal through 2023, while Brooklyn could attract Chicago's interest with a package of young prospects.
