The opening NBA exhibition matchups in Orlando will feature four 10-minute quarters as opposed to the customary 12 minutes, according to The Associated Press' Tim Reynolds.
The league reportedly made the change because some teams lack a full roster, and to avoid overworking players after a four-month hiatus.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Orlando Magic will kick off the exhibition schedule Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET.
Each of the 22 teams competing in the NBA restart will have three exhibition matchups prior to the beginning of "seeding games" on July 30. The clubs' last two tune-ups will shift back to traditional 12-minute quarters.
