The NBA plans to allow teams to carry a maximum of 17 players on their roster, including those on two-way contracts, when the 2019-20 season resumes in Orlando, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Two-way players were previously restricted from joining their clubs at Disney World.

For instance, Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Luguentz Dort started 21 games, but wouldn't have been able to travel with the team if the status quo remained.

In addition, players who have signed an NBA or G League deal this season or the previous year are expected to be available, Charania reports. This would allow veterans, such as Jamal Crawford or JR Smith, to join any of the competing teams.

The NBA will reportedly hold a transaction window from June 22 to July 1, allowing all 30 clubs to add players before the current campaign restarts.

There are apparently no limits expected on the number of players an NBA team can sign to replace those lost due to a positive COVID-19 test or serious injury.

Any player replaced due to COVID-19 or injury may reportedly be ruled ineligible for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.
