Attorneys for Bucks' Brown ask judge to reject city's $400K settlement offer

Attorneys representing Milwaukee Bucks guard Sterling Brown asked a federal judge to reject a $400,000 settlement offer of judgment from the city of Milwaukee.

"Mr. Brown deserves more than a mere apology," his lawyer, Mark Thomsen, told ESPN's Marc Spears. "He, as any human being, citizen of the USA, is entitled to an express vindication that his constitutional rights have been violated. He is entitled to no less."

In January 2018, Brown illegally parked outside of a Milwaukee drugstore. While awaiting his citation, he was thrown to the ground by officers and tasered because he didn't immediately remove his hands from his pockets when ordered to.

The 24-year-old sued the city, alleging that officers used excessive force and targeted him because he is black. Two weeks ago, the city of Milwaukee offered a settlement but denied any liability.

Brown was drafted 46th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2017 NBA Draft and traded shortly after to the Bucks. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.2 boards across 58 appearances for the team last season.
