LeBron James will begin the 2019-20 season as the Los Angeles Lakers' starting point guard, sources told Yahoo's Chris Haynes.

The decision makes sense given the lack of a traditional, starting-caliber lead guard on the Lakers' roster. Beyond Rajon Rondo, who reportedly re-signed with the team over the weekend, Los Angeles also has Quinn Cook and Alex Caruso on board.

Meanwhile, the Lakers appear to have a glut of power forwards and centers in the fold, including Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma, DeMarcus Cousins, and JaVale McGee.

James has flourished as a point forward throughout his career, having averaged 7.2 assists in 1,198 NBA games.
