CP3 says Jamal Murray has no ceiling
Jamal Murray's played an integral role this season for the Denver Nuggets, who sit atop the Western Conference standings with a 17-7 record entering Friday's action.
The third-year guard is averaging career highs in points (17.9) and assists (4.9), and his overall skill set has impressed at least one future Hall of Famer.
"Ceiling? I don’t think he has one," Paul told Bleacher Report's Joon Lee when asked about the 21-year-old Murray's potential. "I think that's completely up to him."
Paul got an in-depth look at Murray last summer when the youngster attended the veteran's CP3 Elite Guard Camp. For Murray, it was a chance to improve his playmaking and absorb information from a nine-time NBA All-Star.
"The amount of things you can learn from just watching somebody - just the way they talk, the way they communicate, the way they carry themselves, what they work on, how they making adjustments," Murray said of Paul. "I just kept staring at him, really staring at him, learning as much as I could."
This season, Nuggets head coach Mike Malone has given his guards more offensive authority - something Paul believes is beneficial for Murray's long-term development.
“I think he's in a great situation, getting to play for a great coach who gives him freedom,” Paul said.
