George still has Lakers dreams, but thinks he can win in OKC

Prized free-agent swingman Paul George is still making up his mind about where he wants to play next year and beyond, and while the pull of coming home to represent the Los Angeles Lakers is strong, George is primarily concerned with winning a championship.

Despite a disappointing season that saw them flame out in the first round of the playoffs, George still feels like he can do that with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

"At the end of the day, that's all I want to do, I want to be a champion," he told Dwyane Wade in a conversation for ESPN's exclusive series on George's free agency. "In a way it's like, I want to come here (Los Angeles), I want to play for the home team and put a Laker jersey on. That's always gonna be something that I want to fulfill.

"But at the same time, it's like, what's the best move? I know who I am as a player. I just want to help a team win. And I feel comfortable doing so with Russ."

George also suggested the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers as potential destinations where he feels like he could win.

Perhaps the whole equation changes if Kawhi Leonard and/or LeBron James winds up with the Lakers. For now, though, George signing there doesn't look to be anything like the lock it once seemed to be.
