Report: Broncos trusted the process, consulted ex-76ers GM on analytics

The Denver Broncos met with former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie on Thursday to consult him on their use of analytics, a source told Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Hinkie is the man responsible for popularizing the mantra "Trust the Process," which he uttered repeatedly while at the helm of a 76ers franchise that spent years tanking in order to acquire elite talent in the draft.

He reportedly met with Broncos executive vice president and general manager John Elway, the team's scouting staffs, and others in the front office during his trip to team headquarters in Dove Valley, Colo.

Hinkie was often criticized for his methods in Philadelphia, but he's become something of a revered figure in recent times thanks to the 76ers' success.
