The Detroit Pistons aren't shying away from making roster moves ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

Detroit is discussing a deal to acquire Dante Cunningham from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Brice Johnson and a second-round pick, according to NBC Sports Chicago's Vincent Goodwill.

Because of the one-year Bird restriction, Cunningham possesses the power to veto any trade, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Johnson joined the Pistons after coming over in a package from the Los Angeles Clippers that included Blake Griffin.

Willie Reed was also part of that deal with the Clippers. Detroit is reportedly shipping him off to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for veteran point guard Jameer Nelson.

Cunningham has made 51 appearances this season for New Orleans, and has averaged five points on 44 percent shooting and 3.8 rebounds per game.
