Report: Rockets withdraw protest of loss to Clippers

The Houston Rockets' protest of their loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 22 has been withdrawn, a source told Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

The Rockets reportedly filed a protest because the officials added a foul to Clippers guard Lou Williams that should have instead been Jawun Evans' sixth foul with 3:10 remaining in the fourth quarter. Houston was only down by three points at the time. The Clippers went on to win 128-118.

Successful protests are a rarity in the NBA. The last one occurred in 2008, when the Miami Heat were allowed to replay the final 51 seconds of a game against the Atlanta Hawks after Shaquille O'Neal was disqualified with five fouls instead of six.
