Draymond: L2M reports are 'pointless'

Draymond Green thinks the NBA should scrap last-two-minute reports.

Introduced in 2015, the reports contain a review of calls in the final two minutes of close games as a means of holding referees accountable. Tuesday's report indicated that Kevin Durant got away with three fouls on LeBron James in the final minutes of Golden State's 99-92 win over Cleveland on Christmas.

In a rant on the futility of L2M reports, Green said Wednesday he thinks calls early in a game are just as important as those whistled later on.

"Why would you just judge the last two minutes of the game? What about the call that was missed in the first quarter? What about the call that was missed in the third quarter? That call could've started a whole run for them, and changed the entire game ..." he said Wednesday.

"I think it's very pointless. It makes no sense. LeBron can't go back and get the play over and get two free throws. So who does it help? ... It's pointless. We don't look at it. The only time we see it is when somebody tweets it. I don't go back like, 'Oh, let me check the report to see if they think I got fouled.' Like who cares at that point?"

"It helps no one," he added. "Maybe makes the referee's day a bit worse. They don't help us. I don't know, I don't think it makes much sense at all."

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year wants the league to do away with the reports, but speculated that it won't, because then it would have to concede it was a bad idea.
