Report: Randle unlikely to be part of Lakers' long-term plans
Julius Randle doesn't like the fact he's not starting games for the Los Angeles Lakers, but he may not be part of the organization's long-term plans anyway.
Randle's future with the Lakers "is very unlikely to continue," according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who suggested the team will look into potential deals ahead of the trade deadline. Compounding matters is Randle's restricted free-agent status next summer, when a $12.4-million cap hold would take effect.
With the rapid emergence of Kyle Kuzma, Randle has become the odd man out. There's little doubt the 22-year-old can play, albeit in the role of a more traditional power forward. Randle scored 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's loss in Boston, and he's hitting 61.4 percent of his shots so far this season.
