Pistons-Trail Blazers game postponed due to severe weather
The Detroit Pistons-Portland Trail Blazers game scheduled to take place Saturday night at the Moda Center has been postponed due to severe weather conditions in the Portland area, the league announced.
It will now be played on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. local time (9 p.m. ET).
Our decision to delay @trailblazers game was made with fan, player and staff safety in mind. That’s a priority for all @rosequarter events

This is the second time during the 2016-17 NBA regular season that the league has stepped in to postpone a game. On Nov. 30 of last year, the matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and visiting Sacramento Kings was delayed and rescheduled for a later date due to poor court conditions.
Neither team is slated to play Monday night, so Portland and Detroit won't be hindered by the change. On Tuesday, the Trail Blazers visit the Staples Center to face the Lakers, while the Pistons continue their Western Conference road trip to battle the Golden State Warriors.
