LeBron gives shoutout to J.R. Smith after Cavs workout
Although J.R. Smith isn't attending the Cleveland Cavaliers' minicamp this week, he's there in spirit.
LeBron James, who's hosting the camp, shared a team photo Thursday following a workout. In the caption, he mentions they're riding for Smith.
The free-agent shooting guard has yet to re-sign with the organization, so he's steering clear of its events. He did say earlier this week he hopes he and the Cavs reach a contract agreement "soon."
Tristan Thompson shared the same photo, noting in his caption that it's "not the same without" Smith.
Last season's championship-winning roster - minus Smith and Mo Williams, according to sources of Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com - reunited Tuesday at the University of California-Santa Barbara to begin prepping for its title defense.
