Report: Average NBA player spends $42K per month
If there's one thing NBA players know how to do, it's spend their hard-earned money.
The average NBA player spends an estimated $42,500 a month, according to Personal Capital, a California-based wealth management firm.
In an article by Kathleen Pender of the San Francisco Chronicle, Personal Capital broke down the top 10 items that players spends their money on, with clothing and shoes topping the list. Automotive, travel, restaurants, charitable giving, entertainment, personal care, service charges and electronics, and "other" rounded out the top 10. Sadly, savings did not make the list.
Personal Capital recently struck a deal with the National Basketball Players' Association, to help educate players on personal finance. More than 50 players are currently using their online tool to track spending.
