Report: Aldridge withdraws from Olympic consideration
At this rate, Team USA's roster for the Rio Olympics this summer will be determined by default.
On the same day Steph Curry announced that he'll skip the Games to recoup from knee and ankle injuries, San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge withdrew his name from consideration for Team USA this summer, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Aldridge reportedly cited a hand and finger injury as the primary reason for his withdrawal.
The 30-year-old, coming off his first season as a Spur, has never represented his country in an international tournament. He's participated in Team USA camps, but has either pulled out or been left off the 12-man roster at every turn.
Aldridge was one of 30 finalists for the Olympic roster. Six of those 30 have already pulled out, with Chris Paul, Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, and John Wall joining Aldridge and Curry in withdrawing.
